Occupational Therapy Services

What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy practitioners ask, “What matters to you?” not, “What’s the matter with you?”

Occupational therapy is a holistic therapy that helps people of all stages of life develop, maintain, and/or recover the skills required to engage in activities of daily living. Occupational Therapy helps people participate in the things they want and need to do inorder to have meaningful life engagement.  We identify areas that can be supported for optimal engagement in meaningful tasks and occupations.

Occupational Therapy supports injury recovery, compensation training, health wellness establishment, strength training and client education for injury recovery with emphasis on life independence. Some typical  benefits include: improved cognitive functioning, improved mobility, improved strength, improved self awareness with mobility and ultimately improved independence with self care skills.

Occupational Therapy services include:

  • An  individualized evaluation

  • Goal establishment determined in a collaborative format

  • Establishment of a customized intervention plan
  • Continued assessment of progression with plan modifications as needed

Occupational therapy services may also include recommendations for adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, and education for compensation techniques to ease the burden of care with daily activity engagement.

Occupational therapy practitioners have a holistic approach which provides a unique perspective that is supportive of interdisciplinary collaboration for healing and wellness.

At your first visit, our expert team will create a customized treatment plan tailored to your unique health history, conditions, and goals. We work with most insurance providers and try our best to keep the paperwork to a minimum. If your insurance requires a co-pay, this payment will be completed at each visit. Our office accepts cash, credit, or check.

We ask that you arrive 15 minutes before your appointment, to have time to check-in, complete any paperwork, and/or change clothes if needed.

Please bring your doctor’s referral or prescription, insurance card, primary registration forms, ID, co-payment (if applicable), and a change of clothing (optional).

During your appointment, our occupational therapist will perform a comprehensive exam and discuss your specific health needs. Our therapist will use this information to create a personalized treatment plan. Your therapy goals will support holistic wellness and healing. Future visits will reference the established treatment plan to support your health diagnosis and goals.
